The Purpose of the Advisory Committee

I-ACT for Children’s Advisory Committee provides high level strategic advice and guidance to the Institute.  The committee has broad representation from the pediatric clinical trials ecosystem (e.g. academia, industry, specialty networks, research administrators, parents, etc.) as well as representatives with unique expertise including leaders in clinical and translational science, bioethics and biomedical innovation across all age groups. The Committee will formally meet twice a year, but will form subcommittee/working groups that will meet as needed.

Advisory Committee Goals


The commitee's scope is exclusively pre-competitive work and includes activities such as:

  • Gaps and challenges in pediatric clinical trials
  • Scientific and educational priorities
  • Patient engagement approaches and methodologies
  • Collaboration opportunities with other pediatric networks and other stakeholders
  • Innovation in trial design and efficiency
  • Adoption of new technology and/or innovative scientific methods
  • Global interface and collaboration
  • New opportunities and challenges
